How We Are Organized

Leadership Circles
The core of the Abound experience is the Leadership Circle.  A Leadership Circle is an intense, 6-12 member peer-to-peer learning group. Each Leadership Circle meets monthly for a half day to help each member grow as a leader, share experiences and and work on organizational or individual challenges. Leadership Circles are modeled after and built on the foundations of the highly successful Forum programs developed for up-and-coming organizational leaders and entrepreneurs. There are over 40,000 global leaders who point to these programs as an overwhelmingly indispensable learning and growth experience, essential to their success as leaders.

Our commitment to sustainable abundance differentiates Abound from other leadership programs. Members commit to attending each monthly Leadership Circle for at least one year.  Abound will provide professional facilitators for the first year of each Circle.  Facilitators are trained and experienced in running Leadership Circles according to proven best practices that create deep trust and maximize collaborative problem solving.  After the first year, selected members who have been qualified as Circle facilitators take over from the professional facilitator. Then their Circle, like a cell, divides. Along the way the members have also learned how to operate a chapter, recruit new members and communicate more effectively. New members are gathered and, where there was one Circle, there are now two. This process continues as long as it is sustainable.

Chapters
Each Abound chapter is composed of multiple Learning Circles. Each month the chapter will provide learning events about immediate and relevant practices to improve sustainability.  These events are opportunities to learn from thought leaders and experts, and to network with other leaders outside of the immediate Learning Circle.  We are currently forming chapters in Portland, Columbus and other cities in North America, as well as Tokyo, Seoul and other cities in the Asia Pacific region.

Global Universities
All chapters are part of the global Abound organization headquartered in Portland. They are fully supported with conferences, development workshops and a wide and deep reserve of expertise from all over the world. We will also hold a Global University that meets once a year in Portland.
